Father’s Day

As all of you know today is Father’s Day.  Most years by now I am headed to another camp week but this year I am able to be home.  First, I received some cards from the kids and Nicole.  They were pretty neat cards.  Adam’s said that he heard a poem and wanted to tell it to me.  The poem was “Beans, beans the magical fruit.  The more you eat the more you toot!”  It was pretty funny since I taught him that song last year.  We then went to church and Steve had an awesome sermon.  We then went to lunch to one of my favorite places, Buffalo Wild Wings, such a great place to eat.  The day was topped off with a nice ride on the motorcycle with Adam.  We went to the American Model Airplane Association and watched some guys fly some model airplanes for a little bit and then took a ride around the Reservoir.  It was a lot of fun and it was nice to hang out with Adam for a while.

I did take some time today to think about my Dad and my Grandpa Botts.  My Grandpa Botts is why I am a Christian today.  I thank God everyday that I was able to know that man, even for a short time.  I also thank God for my Dad.  He is an amazing man and someone I still look up too.  I just wish I could spend more time with him.

Well, I leave tomorrow for CIY.  I doubt I will make any blog posts but I will be updating my Twitter.  Feel free to follow it and see what is going on.  See you when I get back.
